Senior Honors Thesis: Investigating innate immune sensing via a CRISPR/Cas9 system in immortalized neutrophil progenitors
In the past year, Krystal Ching has optimized a CRISPR/Cas9 system for screening mutations in macrophages and neutrophils. Professor Barton describes her as “the epitome of dependability, and a constant positive presence. She manages to successfully split her time between keeping the lab running smoothly and pursuing her own research interests.”
On her research experience, Ching says, “being in lab means engaging in a fun, yet intense learning environment. It never feels like work to me! Everyone is supportive and flexible to my schedule as a student-athlete, and I'm always happy to be around such good humored people.”
